SonicWall

SonicWall, a cybersecurity leader, has announced its acquisition of Banyan Security, a prominent provider of security service edge solutions.

SonicWall, known for its robust cybersecurity measures, and Banyan Security, recognized for its zero trust security services, are set to revolutionize the cloud security landscape.

The acquisition serves to fortify SonicWall’s cybersecurity portfolio by integrating Banyan Security’s zero trust security, widely used from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses. This move marks a significant shift towards SSE solutions, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SonicWall has long been a pivotal player in the cybersecurity sector, providing a comprehensive range of services including network, endpoint, wireless, cloud email, and threat intelligence solutions. Banyan Security specializes in zero trust security services, catering to the modern, cloud-centric workforce and offering advanced security service edge solutions.

The integration of Banyan’s technology into SonicWall’s offerings extends its reach into cloud security, offering enhanced flexibility and a unified cybersecurity platform. This aligns with SonicWall’s “best of suite” strategy, which consolidates various security services under a single, multi-tenant portal. This platform simplifies workflows and provides a comprehensive view of threats, facilitating more efficient security management.

SonicWall’s acquisition of Banyan Security follows its recent acquisition of Solutions Granted, Inc. (SGI), emphasizing its commitment to providing cutting-edge managed detection and response services. This strategic move caters to the needs of Managed Service Providers and Managed Security Service Providers, further bolstering SonicWall’s position in the cybersecurity landscape.

SonicWall President and CEO Bob Vankirk highlighted the industry shift towards dynamic cloud security solutions, stating, “Cybersecurity’s focus is shifting to more dynamic solutions that can adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of threats in the cloud age.”

Joshua Skeens, CEO of Logically, a SonicWall partner, commented on the acquisition’s alignment with cloud-first strategies, expressing excitement about working alongside SonicWall in this new cloud-centric era.
