SecurityMetrics has launched GDPR Defense to help small-to-medium businesses address specific mandates of the EU GDPR.
The general data protection regulation (GDPR), which becomes enforceable on May 25, applies to organisations within the EU, as well as organizations outside the EU that process personally identifiable information (PII) of EU citizens.
GDPR Defense contains tools to assist with certain GDPR requirements and provides a central location to track, train, and report on those efforts.
It scans systems and devices for unencrypted PII, and provides file path so users can locate, and then delete orto simple ‘how to implement’ steps. It checklist tracks completion dates encrypt, personal data. The solution also defines and breaks down GDPR requirements in of items and then displays them on the GDPR Implementation Report.
With GDPR requiring organisations to maintain policies and procedures about encryption, data retention, and breach response, GDPR Defense also provides a secure central location for policies and internal data mapping documents.
SecurityMetrics’ new solution also shows evidence of efforts to reach compliance in the event of an audit or breach.
GDPR Defense product manager Brittany Woodard says, “The GDPR is a complex law to interpret, and we know first-hand the challenges businesses are faced with.
