Samonsa launches Server-i to discover and protect sensitive data

Samonsa, a leader in data loss prevention, has launched Server-i to protect sensitive data stored in servers and databases.

The company provides Data Loss Prevention security to protect sensitive data and help meet regulatory compliance requirements including GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA and Privacy Laws. Using advanced machine learning algorithms and big data search technology, Server-i discovers and secures sensitive data and personal information based on policy rules.

With companies storing and managing the most critical, sensitive data on servers and databases they are often targeted and vulnerable to data breaches and leakage. An important first step to protecting sensitive data is to define and locate where the sensitive resides in the servers and databases.

Confidential and sensitive data leakage, meeting compliance requirements, and legal lawsuits can all lead to financial and resource loss for organisations of all sizes and industries, healthcare, financial, and government.

Server-i helps organisations scan and locate sensitive data based on pre-defined and customisable content aware policies and detection methods including OCR and Form Recognition. It works with a number of server operating systems including Microsoft Windows, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX, among others. It also works with a number of databases types including Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, MySQL, Sybase, Tibero, PostgreSQL, Informix, PPAS, SUNDB, TeraData, Altibase, and more. It claims to provide fast discovery time using simultaneous and parallel scanning of all servers, and central management and reporting.

Founded in 1997, Somansa works with small and medium sized businesses in financial, healthcare, manufacturing, telecom/media, and government.

Protection of confidential customer information such as social security and credit card numbers contained in email, IM, and other electronic formats are required to meet regulatory compliance including PCI DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, SEC, NYSE, NSAD, etc. Companies must prepare and protect themselves with the proper compliance and auditing data security and management solutions.

To help, Somansa’s DLP solution monitors, prevents, and discovers sensitive data in emails, cloud, servers, databases, social media, USB’s, and printing. It provides a customised appliance designed for small organizations for a complete DLP and DAP security & compliance solution, as well Database Audit & Protection (DAP), which includes centralised management to monitor and secure database access and prevent data leakage in DBMS.
