Perspectium updates integration solutions ahead of GDPR

Perspectium, which delivers integration solutions for service management, has launched new functionality to help companies comply with the GDPR.

The European Union general data protection regulation (GDPR) becomes enforceable on May 25 this year. With integrations being ‘the backbone’ of the enterprise, ensuring those integrations are secure and private is a critical element in achieving GDPR compliance according to the company.

To help solve the issue, Perspectium has launched new capabilities to provide the ability to obfuscate specific data when moving it to another system, a service provider, or even within the source system. Unlike other integration services, Perspectium obfuscates selected data at the source, and is easily configured to mask personally identifiable information (PII) via a point and click interface.

The company applies real time masking to data by field, by pattern-matching and by reference from external files, meaning that data stored in free-text fields can be sanitised just as easily as data in PII fields.

This function is crucial for GDPR compliance, since all PII data is impacted – regardless of where it resides. Additionally, Perspectium has fully independent clouds for EU and non-EU customers to ensure that data isolation requirements are met.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this new data privacy functionality to our customers,” says David Loo, CEO and founder of Perspectium. “Organisations around the world are investing significant work into GDPR compliance, and we love being able to simplify this part of the effort for our customers.”

Headquartered in San Diego, integrates both process and data, automating workflows across applications, databases, and business teams. Its solutions are end-to-end managed cloud services, solving intricate integration challenges for some of the world’s largest organisations including Deloitte, Invesco, Swiss Re and Accenture, among others.

With only a month until the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) deadline goes into effect, 93% of respondents to a new survey said they are yet fully compliant.

Earlier this year, SAS conducted a global survey of 183 business people in a wide variety of industries who have a role in preparing their organisations for GDPR. The survey, which highlights the biggest challenges and opportunities organisations face on the road to GDPR compliance, found that only 7% businesses are ready for the regulation. Less than half (46%) of the global organisations surveyed reported that they expect to be compliant when GDPR goes into effect May 25.
