Mastercard, Microsoft, and Workday have launched the Cybersecurity Talent Initiate, a partnership to recruit the US’ best talent to help defend against cyberattacks.
This initiative aims to bring companies, federal agencies and higher education institutions to come together and support cybersecurity technologists.
Federal agencies participating include Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Election Commission, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of Naval Intelligence, and Small Business Administration.
The Cybersecurity Talent Initiative will help to jumpstart careers into the cybersecurity space across both the public and private sectors. Participants selected for the program will be given a two-year placement at a federal agency within a cybersecurity role. Prior to the end of their federal service, they will be eligible for full-time positions at a private sector partner and if hired, they will receive up to $75,000 student loan assistance.
During the course of the program, participants will meet with filed experts from the public and private sectors, build a network of cybersecurity colleagues and attend development sessions.
Mastercard chief security officer Ron Green said, “Cybersecurity is a critical issue facing our world today. It will take a true collaboration between the public and private sectors to get the right resources in place to address the threat.
“We invite more corporations and government agencies to join us in this critical endeavour and give the best and brightest talent an opportunity to get a step up, enhance their skills and pave their own career paths.”
