Blockchain-based trading and investment platform Funderbeam has picked up €2m from Japanese investor and incubator Mistletoe.
The Estonian company’s platform aims to offer the tools to let users research, invest and trade in private companies.
It uses blockchain technology to verify stock and identity to provide security to the platform.
Funderbeam’s ultimate aim is the creation of a 24/7 stock exchange that allows small and medium-sized private companies to raise money across boarders while also providing liquidity to shareholders.
It claims to have facilitated more than €2m in investments since it launched its funding and trading capabilities last year with 600 companies registering.
Funderbeam previously raised $2.6m in an October round co-led by Thomson Reuters, IQ Capital and Draper Associates.
The new funding from Mistletoe will be used to fuel the startup’s expansion beyond Europe and into the Asian market.
