Napier, which provides anti-money laundering solutions, has appointed former HSBC chief operations officer and chair of the global banking unit at Boston Consulting Group, Andy Maguire to its advisory board.
In his role as board adviser at Napier, Maguire will provide insight and strategic direction as the company continues its global expansion.
The London-headquartered RegTech company works with financial organisations around the globe to provide an AI-led platform for AML and trade compliance.
Currently chair of global banking, managing director and senior partner at The Boston Consulting Group, Maguire was previously responsible for HSBC’s global cost base and operations across retail, private and commercial banking in the UK, Europe, US, Canada, Latin America and Asia for six years from 2014.
During his time at HSBC, he was also responsible for the development of the group’s financial crime and operational risk capabilities as well as its digital transformation programme.
Commenting on this new appointment, CEO of Napier Julian Dixon said, “As a business, we’re growing fast, so being able to tap into Andy’s experience will give us an immeasurable edge in taking this to the next level.”
Echoing a similar sentiment, Maguire said, “This is a very exciting time for the development of AI-led solutions in the fight against financial crime, and Napier are very much at the forefront of that digital arms race. Now is the time to be nimble, so I’m looking forward to being part of the great work that Napier are doing to transform AML compliance through technology.”
