Remote access becomes top zero trust priority for 2021 – survey claims

Appetite in secure remote access has accelerated over the past year to become a top zero trust priority for 2021.

The number of remote users accessing the corporate network and applications increased threefold year-over-year, according to a report from Axis Security. Furthermore. it claims that 41% of respondents put it as a top contributor to their organization’s cybersecurity management and operational challenges.

Axis Security company completed a survey of over 420 IT professionals in North America on their organisations’ zero trust initiatives.

Additionally, 69% of participants stated application access was a primary or secondary consideration for zero trust in 2021.

ESG Research senior analyst, network security John Grady said, “The survey made clear that the rapid expansion of secure remote access requirements for employees and third parties was a significant operational challenge. The benefits of transitioning from legacy approaches to zero trust network access were also clear as it was perceived as the most effective of all the tools used to support zero-trust initiatives.”
