BehavioSec launches features to improve protection from account hijacks

BehavioSec has revealed a number of new features to improve protection against account hijacks.

The company has launched features to its Behavioral Biometrics Platform which will help banks, FinTechs, retailers and cloud service providers boost authentication defences against account hijacks and fraud committed through stolen password or credentials.

Its platform is now capable of detecting suspicious use of attack obfuscation on web portals, storefronts and mobile apps. This includes the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) and TOR-routed traffic during login attempts and sessions.

Alongside this, BehavioSec is adding Docker container support which will simplify on-premise deployments and a real-time feed of 1.5 billion compromised devices. Doing this will increase its efforts in identifying attackers before they access accounts.

BehavioSec VP of products Jordan Blake said, “Today with Docker support, enhanced detection and integration updates, we continue to turn the tables on fraud by making ‘the human algorithm’ the strongest link in security.

“By continuously authenticating users according to unique behavioral attributes – instead of a password or text message someone can steal – BehavioSec reinvents anti-fraud as traditional password-driven security is increasingly known for performance limitations and needless friction.”

The BehavioSec Behavioral Biometrics Platform integrates with web and mobile applications to offer authentication tools for existing users. It analyses behaviours such as typing patterns, touchscreen pressure and device handling to identify differences among users and malicious bots or imposters.

Other new features to be deployed were new tools for account fraud detection including global profiling which compares new users with the existing behaviour network, and an improved continuous touch support which uses continual touchscreen gesture information. Another feature to release is identifying bad actors on first connection, enabling the platform to uncover hidden attacks made through VPNs or proxy services.
