Theta Lake unveils new capture and monitoring solution that could boost compliance during the coronavirus crisis

Collaboration risk and compliance company Theta Lake has released the first native capture and monitoring solution for collaboration chat.

The will give organisations access to full contextual chat archiving, risk analysis and monitoring across the leading collaboration platforms instead of relying on attempts to format chat for email archive systems with rudimentary threading views.

The new tools will also provide full coverage for Microsoft Teams one-to-one chat, group chat and teams chat, as well as leading coverage for Cisco Webex Teams, RingCentral Glip, Slack, and more, which Theta Lake hails as an industry first.

The news could prove particularly timely as these tools could help businesses remain compliant in the face of the current coronavirus pandemic, which has scattered workforces around the world and forced employees to work remotely.

“Now is the time we all need to fully adopt collaboration platforms and use their capabilities to communicate and share the right content, but this also requires risk and compliance guardrails,” said Devin Redmond, CEO of Theta Lake.

“Our Theta Lake Compliance Suite makes that adoption with full risk and compliance monitoring possible. The solution covers all content that may be in a chat, including videos, voice, URLs, images, files, emojis, documents, and more all with full context of the timeline and participants with consistency across multiple chat and collaboration platforms. This modern, context-based analysis approach provides our customers with the critical nuanced information they need about the communications to fully mitigate the risks.”

A key difference between the new suite and old legacy systems, according to Theta Lake, is that the new tools don’t run the risk of losing contextual information in the way that old legacy systems do by reformatting and denature modern chat and turning it into an email.
