Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to create CCPA tool

Legal technology developer Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has released a new automated tool to help companies comply with California’s Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

SixFifty is an automated tool, backed by human expertise, aiming to streamline legal processes. A host of different tools are in the company’s pipeline, but its maiden solution will be focused around CCPA.

The software will enable businesses to assess and plan compliance of CCPA which comes into force on January 1 2020 and will change guidelines on how companies collect, use, disclose, and sell personal information.

Experts from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s privacy and data protection practice will deploy this tool suite later in the year.

In addition to this compliance tool, the company is hoping to design technology which can automate a number of other legal processes.

SixFifty president Kimball Parker said, “The price and complexity of many legal services are common frustrations felt by businesses. For most companies, complying with the CCPA will be a confusing and costly exercise. SixFifty’s automated tools will provide a more affordable, efficient and convenient solution to help companies on the path to compliance.  We are proud to bring the full unified resources of SixFifty to companies and individuals in need of assistance.”

The new subsidiary will be led by Kimball Dean Parker, serving as president and Lincoln Porter, who will act as the CTO.

Prior to this initiative, the pair built the GDPR IQ, an automated solution which generated GDPR compliance documents.
