WISeKey International Holding, a cybersecurity and IoT platform, is set to launch a security token offering in Q2 2019.
The tokens will be issued by WISeCoin, a special purpose vehicle to create infrastructure for secure intra-object interactions. Initially established in 2018, WISeCoin has a goal of securing the blockchain and IoT space from cyber threats.
One of WISeCoin’s aims is to create a blockchain of identity which strores objects and people’s identities. This will offer connected objects the ability to digitally identify, authenticate and verify through certificates.
To use the service there will be a service fee charged through the WISeCoin token.
WISeKey CEO Carlos Moreira said, “We are happy to move forward with the launch of our STO. WISeCoin combines a range of blockchain enabled microchips with software applications that cater to our customers’ specific business and security needs, enabling them to adapt to an evolving device landscape without compromising digital security.
“The software solution driven by proprietary technologies, such RoT and PKI, enables our clients to effectively and securely manage their digital identity, information, and communications through a single integrated platform. WISeKey’s RoT secures electronic information/transitions and PKI creates tamperproof electronic ‘fingerprints’ of these digital certificates.”
Switzerland-based WISeKey is a cybersecurity company which offers digital identity ecosytems for IoT and blockchain devices. The company supplies financial institutions with tools for secure authentication of users on their systems, and databases, as well as to encrypt messaging.
Its technology is also capable of securing the mobile identity and personal information of their customers.
