Cybersecurity startup Styra has secured $14m in its Series A round led by Accel, the venture capital firm.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Accel as we reinvent policy and authorisation to meet today’s privacy demands in the new stack – from Kubernetes and CICD to streaming databases, APIs, servicemesh, apps, cloud platforms, and more,” said Bill Mann, CEO of Styra, adding that the company is able to bridge the security gap left by old school security and compliance tools.
Commenting on the investment, Eric Wolford, partner at Accel, said, “By providing businesses with a critical, unified layer of security and authorization that did not exist before, Styra has tackled some of the biggest challenges associated with cloud-native application development.”
Previous investors Unusual Ventures and A.Capital also participated in the investment round.
Styra will use the money to scale it its policy-based cloud management tool as well as its turnkey enterprise security and compliance solution.
