Speedcast launches new cybersecurity-as-a-service

Speedcast International Limited has revealed a new cybersecurity-as-a-service solution to help companies cope with growing cyberthreats.

The new solution, which is a combination of its applications and services, will protect customers from cyber risks by defending customers’ assets, detecting and monitoring threats and by mitigating cyberattacks.

Its solution will provide a unified threat management system and end-point protection to ensure a customer’s remote site operates securely. Speedcast’s Security Operations Center regularly assesses the protection level of customer sites and will deliver alerts and reports on vulnerabilities and protect from malicious threats.

The cybersecurity-as-a-service can be operated either externally or internally.

Australia-headquartered Speedcast is a developer of communications services from a range of industries including enterprise, government, telecoms and maritime, among others. Its offerings include satellite services, private networks, maritime communications, maritime broadband, and managed network services, among others.

Speedcast executive vice president Tim Bailey said, “Companies are undergoing digital transformation and implementing automation across all levels of their organizations.

“Our Cybersecurity as a Service solution provides advanced cybersecurity applications and best-in-class services, enabling our customers to proactively control cyber threats. This solution underscores our focus on extending our product portfolio to deliver applications and services that bring value to our customers.”

Cybersecurity is one of the top priorities of enterprises as the level of fraud and cyberattacks continues to rise. Last week, the Monetary Authority of Singapore launched a $30m cybersecurity grant which is aimed at helping the country’s financial sector bolster its defences.
