United Overseas Bank (UOB) has partnered with Israeli investment crowdfunding platform OurCrowd seeking a head start in FinTech.
The Singaporean bank will invest S$13.93m ($10m) in the joint enterprise, aimed to to address the $180bn SME funding gap in Southeast Asia.
UOB is looking to providing support to local startups and small businesses with end-to-end financing needs.
OurCrowd has recently been approved to operate in Singapore by the country’s Monetary Authority.
The Jerusalem-based business eyes further similar partnerships with financial operators in other countries as well.
OurCrowd has so far provided backing to startups in the cleantech, fintech, medtech and related sectors globally.
