SAR nets $1m seed funding from angel investors

SAR, a data analytics platform for securities class action (SCA), has netted $1m in seed funding from a group of angel investors.

The company combines event study methodology with cloud-based processing to identify, track and uniformly quantify potential exposure to adverse events. A client can track claims that allege violations of the Securities Exchange Act.

As of next year, the company will increase the areas of regulations it monitors.

Alongside the funding, the company has hired Carolina Doherty as its vice president of business development and promoted Stephen Sigrist to its executive team as a data scientist and Gadi Rozmaryn to vice president of software engineering.

SAR CEO Nessim Mezrahi said, “SAR is honored to have such a dedicated and focused team of skilled professionals lead our mission to enhance transparency in the securities class action arena with best-in-class SCA data analytics.”
