LexisNexis adds behavioural biometrics to its tool suite

LexisNexis® Risk Solutions has added behavioural biometrics to is selection of fraud and identity solutions.

The new solution will be integrated into its ThreatMetrix solution, a service for global digital identity intelligence and authentication which leverages billions of transaction datapoints.

By introducing behavioural biometrics to its tool suite, it can bolster secutiry by analysing the way a user interacts with a device and differentiate between different user profiles. The technology will give customers additional risk signals across account openings, logins, personal information changes, password resets, payee creation and payments.

The behaviour tools give an organisation the ability to distinguish between human and bot activity, identify “good” customer profiles, profile fraudsters, detect session anomalies and boost confidence of returning customers, it claims.

It works by building a unique profile for each user which analyses the way they interact with their computers, this includes typing speed, phone tilt, keystroke behaviour and mouse movements. This information is then used to recognise a returning visitor.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions vice president Kimberly Sutherland said, “Differentiating between good and bad online behavior is harder than ever. Gathering device interaction data across multiple touchpoints in the online journey, however, helps build richer digital profiles,”

“As fraudsters continually adapt their strategies to bypass controls, security solutions must be able to distinguish between trustworthy and malicious users in real time, without adding unnecessary friction for good customers.”

Earlier in the year, LexisNexis acquired fraud prevention and risk management solution Emailage.
