Klarna expands retailer financing with e-commerce partnerships

Swedish payments service Klarna is expanding its retailer financing offering through a new wave of UK partnerships.

The news follows the announcement of the $2.25bn-vlaued company’s partnership with retail giant Arcadia Group in September.

Klarna is now teaming up with a string of e-commerce brands including Shopify, Worldpay, BigCommerce and CyberSource to offer online purchase financing.

Klarna’s UK general manager Luke Griffiths said, “After the successful launch with fashion giant Arcadia Group, we’re excited to make this retail financing solution available to even more merchants and consumers across the UK.

“It not only delivers one of the most seamless solutions available today for people shopping online and on mobile, it also offers instant access to financing without redirecting customers away from the online store.”

Klaran has raised almost $300m in funding to date from investors including Atomico and Sequoia Capital.
