Humaniq strengthens security & privacy of app through Prover partnership

Humaniq, has strengthen the security and privacy of its app user by partnering with Prover, an independent assistant that helps authenticate and verify video content.

In a statement confirming the deal, The London-based FinTech said the partnership aims to tackle the ‘widespread distrust’ that prevents people from participating in the new economy in the ten markets in Sub-Saharan Africa it operates in. It also provides ‘fertile soil’ for a peer-to-peer economy to flourish.

Prover.io technology will allow Humaniq to eliminate the forgery of video materials and confirm their authenticity to protect the App users’ safety.

It equips App users with a tool to verify the authenticity of a user-generated video in which events and information are provided. The service guarantees that a video is unique using a swipe-code generated on the Blockchain when a user makes use of the new service.

When the video is recording, the user moves his phone following a swipe code on the screen, providing a user’s ‘digital signature’ on his or her video. Prover saves the ‘hash’ of data relating to a video file authenticity confirmation of events and facts on the Blockchain at the end of each recording.

“This agreement with Prover.io is a landmark partnership. The Humaniq team is striving to maximise the level of users’ protection and now we are bringing additional security for our community’s lives, protecting the privacy and safety of people across Africa and giving them confidence on-line,” said Anton Mozgovoy, CTO Humaniq.

Based in London, Humaniq provides next-generation financial services using its Blockchain-based mobile application to the unbanked and underprivileged in emerging economies globally. It is focused on worldwide financial inclusion by providing access to global markets, greater opportunities, and novel financial solution

Last year, Humaniq partnered with Coinfirm, a blockchain compliance & analytics platform, to integrate its AML/CTF Platform across the its ecosystem. Through new partnership, Humaniq said it will be able to further secure transactions made in HMQ tokens, which fuels its platform, from uncontrolled misuse for illegitimate purposes.

Humaniq also recently implemented a new smart bio-identification system to strengthen security for outgoing transactions. The additional bioID settings act as an extra safeguard and be integrated into the Humaniq app.
