France’s AMF signs information exchange agreement with China’s CSRC

French regulator The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) has signed an agreement with China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) to support innovation across the countries.

The new agreement will foster the exchange of information around innovation trends in the respective markets and new categories of market participants. Information on advanced technologies applied in their financial services will also be transferred.

By working together, the AMF and CSRC will share knowledge on AI, big data techniques, robo-advisory and blockchain technology.

This new agreement will also establish dialogue on regulatory challenges posed by these innovations and responses adopted in each country. AMF and CSRC are hoping to gain support on innovative projects when examining and understanding regulations in each other’s country.

The AMF has been forming similar agreements around the world, in order to support global financial services innovation. Other cooperation agreements have been signed with regulators in Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Canadian provinces, Japan and Mauritius.

China has also established these partnership agreements with other regulators. The CSRC previously agreed to share information on FinTech developments and RegTech insights with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC).
