Fama and Sterling sign partnership to empower businesses to make better background checks

Sterling, a background and identity services provider that caters to the financial services industry, has signed a partnership with Fama, an AI-based social media and web screening solution, to help businesses make better hiring decision.

Fama’s technology scans publicly available data to identify behaviours that are relevant to businesses’ hiring decisions.

The idea is that together the two companies will embower enterprises to create stronger cultures whilst protecting their brands from negative side-effects from hiring the wrong person.

“Fama’s AI and machine learning technology, stellar track record and shared vision with Sterling will serve our clients well and strengthen the foundation of trust and safety that Sterling provides,” said Josh Peirez, CEO of Sterling. “By screening social media, which is a fundamental part of everyday life across the US and much of the globe, we help companies avoid costly bad hires, safeguard their reputations and create better work environments.”

Among other industries, Sterling is catering to financial services to protect their clients, capital and reputation by managing complex regulatory compliance requirements by using screening, fingerprints and monitoring solutions.
