ESMA is looking for data experts to join its new data advisory group

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is looking for experts to help it advice on new policies.

The EU regulator’s newly-established Data Advisory Group (DAG) has called out for market data regulatory reporting experts to join the group. It is also seeking professionals with a knowledge in record keeping of derivative contracts, positions and transactions in financial instruments, including securities financing.

DAG is also looking for experts in order book, instrument reference data, investment funds and prospectus data.

Once selected, successful candidates are expected to advise ESMA’s Data Standing Committee (DSC) which undertakes ESMA’s policy work in data and reporting related areas. This will include sharing their knowledge on specific data matters in its work on the completion of a Single Rulebook and specific data maters in its work related to the development of supervisory convergence tools.

Additionally, their expertise will be used to better inform the DSC on matters of practical implementation of reporting requirements which require clarifications or adaptations and potentially advise other ESMA groups on specific data matters within their remits.

The deadline to apply to this group is on September 16.
