Cybersecurity woes still high on bankers’ list of concerns

Bankers in the US worry about cybersecurity as they continue to digitise their offerings, according to new research.

Computer Services Inc., a FinTech and RegTech provider, has surveyed 272 banking executives to find out their biggest focus points over the next 12 months.

Looking at their concerns, the researchers found that 34% of bankers worry about cybersecurity and 19% said that meeting customer exceptions where their biggest focus in 2021.

Bankers would also invest heavily in new technologies, with 59% saying that would introduce digital account opening features and 45% said the same about mobile baking apps.

“Digital prioritisation is creating opportunities to accelerate growth and elevate the customer experience,” said Steve Powless, CSI’s chairman and CEO. “More than ever, strategic digital transformation is the key for institutions to grow, compete and remain vibrant, thriving leaders in their communities.”
