Cybersecurity training platform SecurityAdvisor closes $7.3m investment

Personalised security awareness platform SecurityAdvisor has scored $7.3m in its Series A funding round.

The capital investment was led by ClearSky Security, with other participants including Crosslink Capital, SixThirty Ventures, and Cyber Mentor Fund.

With the funds, the RegTech plans to deepen its product development and boost market awareness of its platform.

SecurityAdvisor’s platform integrates within existing security infrastructure to offer targeted coaching to employees, helping them to get better at identifying and remediating cyberattacks.

Clients can offer real-time coaching to each employee, helping them to understand threats as well as practice scenarios through phishing simulations.

It claims the platform can reduce overall security incidents by 70%, email phishing attacks by over 50% and lower endpoint malware detections by more than 90%.

ClearSky Security managing partner Peter Kuper said, “The work environment that has emerged due to the pandemic and will remain a part of our new norm prominently features remote environments that rely on employees’ autonomy and resilience to cyberattacks.

“SecurityAdvisor’s ability to deliver personalized coaching to build awareness and change user behaviour is a disruptive shift from the traditional security training model. Rather than executing basic compliance-based security training, security leaders can use SecurityAdvisor to implement continuous education processes that flag risky behaviours in real-time to prevent data breaches.”
