Credit Karma denies breach caused glitch making users see other people’s credit data

Users of Credit Karma has complained that they were presented with other people’s information when logging into the credit scoring business’ platform.

Taking to Reddit in mid-August, several people shared information that they had been given someone else’s information when they refreshed the page. One user described it as a form of “roulette” with a new random user’s data being shared every time they refreshed.

Speaking with TechCrunch, Credit Karma spokesperson denied that the glitch was caused by a cybersecurity breach. Instead, she described it as a “technical malfunction that has now been fixed.”

Credit Karma announced plans to expand into the UK in November 2018. The news came as it acquired credit score company Noodle om TransUnion. It had previously bought mortgage lending business Approved in August the same year.
