By Light Professional IT Services has acquired Metova Federal, a cyber management and cybersecurity training solution provider for the US government.
With this acquisition, By Light Professional IT Services hopes to help customers be better prepared of complex and ever-adapting online threats.
Metova develops a range of cyber products and services, software development and cyber training. Its CyberCENTS soluion provides cyber training, exercise and mission qualification to help federal and state agencies protect multi-domain environments.
The company also offers onsite database administration and management to boost the creation, documentation, and tracking of changes.
Founded in 2002, By Light provides a broad selection of professional services, hardware and software engineering tools to defence, civilian and commercial customers. The company supplies teams with a cyber training environment which is designed to create real-life scenarios which can teach, train and test a company’s employees on cyber defence.
By Light CEO and founder Bob Donahue Jr. said, “We are thrilled to combine Metova Federal’s proven track record as a high-end, mission-critical cyber range and cyber services provider with By Light’s own strong cyber and intel practice. This acquisition will allow us to expand and diversify our cyber offering to better serve our customers.”
By Light was acquired by New York-based private equity firm Sagewind Capital in 2017, for an undisclosed amount.
Employees are one of the biggest weakness for a businesses cyber defence and a number of companies are building services to improve education of online threats. Last month, KnowBe4 closed an investment from KKR and Ten Eleven Ventures which valued it at $800m.
The RegTech gives enterprises a tool to help educate users to recognise, report and avoid threats, via online training and simulated phishing tests.
