PVML, a burgeoning innovator in the field of secure, AI-enabled data access, has successfully closed its Seed funding round, netting $8m.
The round was spearheaded by NFX, with contributions from FJ Labs and Gefen Capital, marking a significant endorsement of PVML’s vision and technology.
The company is at the forefront of addressing the dual challenges of data security and accessibility in the enterprise space. By leveraging advanced technologies such as Differential Privacy and AI, PVML aims to streamline how businesses access and utilise their data while maintaining stringent privacy standards.
With the fresh capital, PVML plans to expand its innovative platform that facilitates secure and private access to enterprise data. The platform utilises Differential Privacy—a mathematical concept used by giants like Google and Apple—to ensure data remains confidential. This technology allows PVML to provide insights from sensitive data without compromising privacy, thus supporting more widespread AI adoption across industries.
The new funding will be used to enhance PVML’s technological offerings, including expanding its capabilities in natural language processing and broadening its integrative solutions for identity and access management. These enhancements are intended to make sophisticated data privacy tools accessible to a wider range of users, including those without technical expertise.
PVML also intends to explore new avenues for applying its secure data access technologies. This includes potential applications in areas such as transactional platforms where data security is paramount, illustrating PVML’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in data privacy and AI interaction.
Co-founders Shachar Schnapp and Rina Galperin bring a wealth of expertise to the venture. “Minimizing threats and maximizing opportunities in one fell swoop sounds too good to be true – and it is. The pain point we originally wanted to address was streamlining access to data. We were motivated by our own experience, seeing how cumbersome accessing data can be even in the most sophisticated enterprises. We thought – there has to be a better way”, PVML CEO Shachar Schnapp said.
Their previous work and life experiences significantly inform PVML’s strategic direction, particularly their deep dive into Differential Privacy and AI innovations. “We help organizations get visibility on everything in one place, without moving data. PVML secures and controls permissions regardless of how the data is accessed – via SQL, BI, or API. But we thought – why stop there? We went one step further. PVML unlocks access to complicated data for non-technical users, offering a natural language interface to analyze data with AI”, PVML CTO Rina Galperin said.
This Seed funding follows their initial investments and business setup, showcasing a rapid progression in their business model and technological advancements.
