Tidal Cyber, a company at the forefront of threat-informed defense, has made a significant leap forward with a $5m seed funding round.
This investment, led by Squadra Ventures and bolstered by the participation of existing investors, marks a pivotal moment for the firm.
The company, led by seasoned professionals from MITRE, is dedicated to advancing threat-informed defense. This mission is championed by CEO Rick Gordon, CTO Richard Struse, and CINO Frank Duff, whose combined expertise has been instrumental in promoting the commercial adoption of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
The infusion of $5m will propel Tidal Cyber’s platform, which empowers security operations teams to proactively target the most pressing threats. By leveraging the platform, these teams can improve their cybersecurity posture significantly and efficiently.
Tidal Cyber’s platform is a beacon for Security Operations Center (SOC) teams, guiding them with a trusted suite of tools and custom recommendations to fortify their defences. It’s designed to streamline the process of identifying, triaging, and remediating cyber threats, thereby optimising the time analysts spend on these critical activities.
The funding will be instrumental in expanding Tidal Cyber’s platform, which is integral to implementing the cybersecurity best practices central to ATT&CK on a grand scale. By automating key processes, the platform allows security teams to focus on the most pertinent threats and react swiftly to adversarial actions.
Tidal Cyber CEO Rick Gordon emphasized the importance of the platform in the current cybersecurity landscape. “As threats multiply and companies add more tools, SOCs have become overwhelmed trying to understand which adversary TTPs (tactics, techniques and procedures) matter and how to best defend against them,” Gordon noted. He highlighted the platform’s capacity to help operators concentrate on relevant threats and take action at the adversary’s pace.
