A multi-cloud database DataStax has acquired The Last Pickle, a consulting and services company, for an undisclosed amount.
The Last Pickle helps businesses implement and improve the use of Apache Cassandra, an open-source database management system which enables users to handle masses of data across commodity servers.
Clients of The Last Pickle can receive support when creating applications on the database including data modelling, performance tuning, proof of concept, capacity planning, benchmarking, code reviews, configuration, code reviews and more.
DataStax is a cloud-native NoSQL data platform built on Apache Cassandra. Its solution gives users and enterprises the freedom to run data in any cloud at global scale and with no downtime, it claims.
Its solution is used across the banking and finance, insurance, retail and federal industries. Financial institutions leverage the platform to improve their fraud prevention efforts by gaining real-time contextual analysis, enterprise-grade security and continuous availability to reduce identity theft and identify any atypical patterns.
Companies can also use the solution to improve data security and compliance procedures.
DataStax CEO Chet Kapoor said, “There’s a huge market opportunity for NoSQL, and Cassandra is the most powerful NoSQL database in the world. DataStax and The Last Pickle are both at the forefront of Cassandra innovation. By joining forces, we strengthen our commitment to NoSQL, the open source Cassandra community, products, and innovation.”
