Cybersecurity startup RangeForce has secured $1.5m in its seed funding round which was led by cyber-focused investor Paladin Capital Group.
Other contributions to the round came from early-stage VC firm Trind Ventures. As part of the deal, Paladin Capital Group senior vice president Gibb Witham will join the company’s board of directors.
This capital injection will be used to grow RangeForce’s team and expand its product platform.
RangeForce provides businesses with a progression of realistic cyberattack scenarios designed to train and assess a technical teams’ decision making and security skills during the lifecycle of a threat. Its performance-based skills measurement engine helps organisations improve their staff capabilities but also identify where vulnerabilities lie.
The sandbox is capable of implementing complex networks to simulate entire kill chains. In-depth attacks will help prepare teams against threats, but RangeForce offers support and advice through the simulation to help guide the user.
Paladin Capital Group senior vice president Gibb Witham said, “We are thrilled to partner with RangeForce and look forward to helping them scale the company.
“One of the top concerns for enterprises is today’s most overburdened and therefore weakest link in security – the human layer. RangeForce turns the weakest link into an enterprise’s strongest asset. RangeForce will continue to grow rapidly globally as companies realize that upskilling the people managing, configuring, and defending their systems may be the best ROI lever in cybersecurity.”
Last year, Paladin Capital led the $3.5m funding round of secure application development platform Secure Code Warrior. The platform offers a selection of tools for developers to write secure codes with a powerful layer of cyber protection.
Fellow cybersecurity training platform, KnowBe4 recently closed its own funding round which valued the company at $800m.
