SurePath AI, a pioneering company in the governance of GenAI for enterprises, has announced a substantial $5.2m in seed funding.

The round was led by Uncork Capital with notable participation from Operator Collective. This funding boosts SurePath AI’s total investments to $6.3m.

The company is dedicated to enabling secure adoption of generative AI technologies by enhancing usage detection, mitigating risks, and controlling access to enterprise data. These efforts aim to empower organizations to bolster innovation and productivity without compromising security.

SurePath AI offers critical functionality for enterprises by providing visibility and control over generative AI use within their operations. The platform includes role-based access controls, which determine the extent of data and model accessibility for end-users, thereby ensuring that sensitive data remains secure.

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating SurePath AI’s growth, focusing on the continuous innovation of their platform. This will allow businesses to securely manage generative AI applications across their workforce.

SurePath AI was founded in 2023 during a period when enterprises were grappling with the choice between completely blocking or freely allowing generative AI. The founders developed a solution that removes the complexities of GenAI governance, offers insights into unregulated AI usage, and securely scales GenAI adoption. The platform was officially launched at AWS re2024.

Randy Birdsall, co-founder of SurePath AI, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Uncork Capital and Operator Collective, emphasizing the importance of this funding in propelling the company’s future development.

“SurePath AI is a game changer for companies who want to leverage the full promise of GenAI, but are concerned about the security of their sensitive internal data. SurePath AI brilliantly uses the network layer to secure any company’s sensitive data and ensure it does not go outside of the company while its employees are using popularly available genAI tools. This is a must have for any forward-thinking company who wants to use GenAI in a secure way,” Julia Chen, Vice President, Partner Core at AWS, said.
