SIX FinTech Ventures has acquired a stake in digital identity verification and customer onboarding company PXL Vision AG, in undisclosed funding round.
By obtaining this stake, SIX FinTech Ventures has enhanced its digitalisation portfolio, with a primary boost for the Swiss financial centre.
The seven-figure pre-seed round also received contributions from Zürcher Kantonalbank and a private business angel.
Zurich-based PXL Vision began life as a spin-off from ETH Zurich. The RegTech offers online verification of users’ identity, helping companies to streamline customer onboarding, lower costs and improve customer experiences.
The biometric and liveness checking technology can verify a customer through a selfie, while its document verification solution can extract and capture all identity information and authenticate it.
The RegTech currently hopes to further its penetration of the Swiss market and beginning its international growth phase.
SIX FinTech Ventures managing director Andreas Iten said, “Together with PXL Vision AG, we can now not only support an already experienced start-up team, but also a technology that harbours huge potential and that encapsulates our vision of a digitized financial centre.
“The acceptance of digitized business models and solutions is crucial for Switzerland as a financial centre. PXL Vision AG’s Daego plays a key part in further increasing this acceptance.”
