SentinelOne has announced its agreement to acquire PingSafe, a company specializing in cloud native application protection platforms.

This acquisition is a strategic move to enhance SentinelOne’s cloud workload security and cloud data security offerings, aiming to provide comprehensive coverage, hygiene, and automation for clients’ cloud infrastructure.

The integration of PingSafe’s CNAPP with SentinelOne’s Singularity™ Platform marks a significant shift in cloud security strategy. The fusion of these technologies means businesses will no longer have to rely on standalone solutions or disjointed cloud security platforms. Instead, they will have access to a unified security platform that combines real-time, AI-powered security operations to safeguard enterprises across endpoints, identities, and clouds.

Ric Smith, Chief Product and Technology Officer at SentinelOne, outlined the vision behind this acquisition. “With PingSafe, we intend to redefine cloud security by merging top cloud workload protection, AI, and analytics with a cutting-edge CNAPP,” he explained. The goal is to simplify security management, allowing companies to handle their entire attack surface via a singular platform that provides comprehensive context, real-time interaction, and analytics. This approach is designed to streamline the detection and prevention of multi-stage attacks in an automated, user-friendly manner.

SentinelOne has been progressively expanding its cloud security capabilities. The acquisition of PingSafe is a leap forward in this journey, furthering their strategy as per the Singularity Unity Release announced in November. This move is expected to transform security operations centers significantly.

Anand Prakash, founder and CEO of PingSafe and a renowned white hat hacker, shared his enthusiasm about the merger. “The combination of our innovative CNAPP with SentinelOne’s leading AI security platform will greatly enhance cloud security,” he said.

PingSafe stands out with its dynamic, real-time monitoring of multi-cloud workloads and user-friendly configuration. Its customers, like Razorpay and Groww, have praised its effectiveness in prioritizing critical threats and ensuring compliance in rapidly changing industries. PingSafe offers features like advanced secrets scanning, attack surface management rules engines, and core CNAPP capabilities like cloud security posture management and vulnerability scanning.

“Combined with our other capabilities, PingSafe will enable us to provide a unique CNAPP solution in the market,” concluded Smith.
