Riverwood Capital backs Omie with $20m Series B investment

Riverwood Capital has made a $20m Series B investment in Brazilian business management platform Omie.

Omie provides a cloud-based management platform for small and medium-sized businesses, which incorporates enterprise resource planning, customer-relationship management and financial services among other services.

The São Paulo-based company was established in 2012 and is currently undergoing a major recruitment drive, with more than 100 new positions opened in its sales, support and customer success teams.

The company has planned to use the Riverwood’s investment to expand the company and to bolster its direct sales and franchise model.

The latest investment bring the company’s total amount raised to $27m, following a $7m investment from Brazilian VC Astella in September last year.

Riverwood has previously backed several companies located across Brazil and Latin America including 99, VTEX, Globant, Conductor and Mandic.

Earlier this year Riverwood Capital registered a little over $1bn for its third private equity vehicle dedicated to technology and technology-related companies.

In July last year, Riverwood provided a $50m growth investment for talent acquisition software company Greenhouse.
