Red Oak Compliance and Synthesis have worked together to help a global asset manager implement a presentation management and compliance workflow solution.
The unnamed asset manager wanted a user-friendly and integrated user experience that could meet their rules around content control, user permissions and cross-workgroup collaboration.
Synthesis, which aims to enable investment marketing and sales teams reduce costs through automation, was selected to automate deal updates, manage slides and create customised presentations. Red Oak’s AdMaster workflow tool was then selected to manage compliance review.
The asset manager’s vision was to build a central repository of compliant content for their global sales teams. Over 4,000 slides would be held in the repository, and it would need to be accessed by over 1,000 sales users for various distribution channels. There are also over 1,000 product strategists that create and manage presentation content for the firm.
It hoped that the combined solution of Synthesis and Red Oak would allow it to build a seamless, efficient process for creating, managing, approving and tracking presentations.
The implemented solution works by product strategists uploading presentation slides in AdMaster, which then starts a compliance review and approval process. When approved, the content is automatically sent to the Synthesis platform and is tagged by its meta-data. These tags drive permissioning and enable the appropriate sales teams to access the right content for their different distribution channels and regions.
Sales teams can get relevant content and have the ability to use stock presentations or create custom ones through the slide library.
Through the solution, the firm has experienced improved communication and collaboration between the product strategists, sales and compliance teams. It has also allowed for more personalised and client-centric presentations, more meetings, more control over content and reduced compliance risk.

Earlier in the week, Red Oak outlined five of the top pain points that were felt by attendants to the FINRA Annual Conference. One of these was the use of duct-taped solutions, which are tools poorly put together and are a disconnected package.
