PayTech amnis partners with HAWK:AI to bolster AML capabilities

German RegTech HAWK:AI has teamed with amnis, a payment platform for SMEs, to strengthen the latter’s AML capabilities ahead of its imminent geographical expansion.

Hawk:AI claims it is Germany’s leading provider of AML surveillance technology for banks, FinTechs and payment companies. Meanwhile, amnis is an international payment platform small and medium sized companies.

According to HAWK:AI, the technology will focus on areas including false-positive reduction, which is a particular challenge for financial institutions, as well as all-in-one list management that powers payment and customer screening efforts. In addition, the customer risk rating solution will enable amnis to understand their customers with the detail and transparency required to manage risk effectively.

HAWK:AI CEO and co-founder Tobias Schweiger said, “We’re excited to partner with amnis, an innovator in the payment platform space. Growth follows innovation in the world of Fintech, and compliance challenges should not be a roadblock to either of these items. We look forward to working together to effectively fight financial crime over the coming years.”

amnis CFO Philippe Christen added, “The regulatory environment around financial crime, sanctions monitoring, and AML is complex, which is why you need more than just great AI technology. We’ve found that partnering with technology providers who have deep knowledge of the market helps us design and implement the most efficient, effective and scalable systems. This was a key driver in choosing to work with HAWK:AI.”
