Nick Cook, head of RegTech and Advanced Analytics at the Financial Conduct Authority, gave a presentation at the Global RegTech Summit, London, 22nd May.
During the presentation he outlines how the FCA’s RegTech work fits within its broader innovate events and the role it hopes to play in the future of the industry. He explains how the FCA is providing direct support, its future plans for global sandbox, and how its robo-advice unit is exploring ways to bring its AI and machine learning support advice models to the market.
Having being looking at the RegTech market for the past two-and-a-half years, Cook explains the role the FCA hopes to play:
“When speaking to the industry and the RegTech ecosystem, we (FCA) have a unique position as a regulator to convene effort around common industry problems. We (FCA) have a catalytic opportunity to play, where we can bring groups across the ecosystem together and give a view on where you we like to see improvements.”
