Legit Security inks $30m to deal with supply chain security issues

Legit Security, a company looking to tackle issues regarding software supply chain security, has bagged $30m from a Series A investment round.

The funding round was backed by investment from venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners.

Legit Security offers a SaaS-based solution that secures an organisation’s software supply chain to prevent sensitive data leaks and insecure software releases. The company also provides security leaders with the visibility and contextual information they need to minimise risk and provides software development and DevOps leaders with tools to ensure their teams and build processes adhere to best practices.

The firm said its platform can be used to scan software development pipelines for gaps and leaks, development infrastructure and systems within those pipelines as well as the people and their security hygiene as they operate within it.

According to Legit, the new influx of capital will drive expansion of its engineering team and the growth of its go-to-market organisation in the US with offices in Austin and Palo Alto.

Legit said, “The solution doesn’t interfere with existing development tools and workflows, and includes continuous assurance and governance capabilities to monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in real-time.”
