RegTech firm Eventus has appointed Jonathan Dixon as its new director of regulatory affairs for the EMEA region.
In this role, Dixon will work closely with clients and industry bodies to champion regulatory effectiveness to protect them from market malfeasance.
Dixon brings more than 18 years of experience in financial services firms and more than nine years of experience in trade surveillance to Eventus.
Prior to joining the firm, Dixon served as Kraken’s Head of Trade Surveillance where he managed a surveillance team of 13, covering both the Crypto Spot platform and Futures FCA-regulated multilateral trading facility.
Eventus said, “Throughout his career, Dixon has helped to ensure best-in-class trade surveillance implementation for compliance and monitoring solutions across both traditional finance and digital assets.”
Dixon is based in London and will report to Joe Schifano, Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at Eventus.
Last year, Eventus appointed Robbie McDonnell as sales director for the Australia and New Zealand regions.
McDonnell is a 30-year veteran of financial markets technology and has served in a range of senior roles, including in global sales and regional expansion in the APAC region.
McDonnell will report to Scott Leader, who is Eventus’ managing director in APAC.
McDonnell has held a range of sales leadership roles including 20 years at Trading Technologies, where he held roles such as EVP/managing director of APAC sales, as well as EVP/Global Head of Sales.
Most recently, McDonnell ran a consultancy business specialising in risk management and anti-money laundering (AML) systems. He also was CEO of Confideregroup, a leading business mentoring and executive coaching business in Sydney.
