Entersekt, which has built a mobile-based authentication and app security software, has enabled FIDO authentication on its platform.
FIDO, which stands for fast identity online, is designed to improve the online authentication processes.
Entersekt claims its new FIDO2-certified solution is quick and easy to integrate into the customer journey. Clients will benefit from an alternative to passwords and app-based authentication for login and online payments.
Entersekt SVP product, Christian Ali said, “Our platform allows financial institutions to offer their customers a truly intuitive user experience.
“In Europe, it also allows institutions to comply with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements under the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).” Entersekt’s solution was recently implemented by German issuing processor PLUSCARD in partnership with Netcetera, becoming the first FIDO-certified alternative to app-based authentication in Europe.
Ali continued to state that there has been a huge rise in online fraud over the past 18 months. Furthermore, existing methods of authenticating consumers’ identities are based on old solutions, such as passwords, and poor user experience can leave consumers to abandon a company’s services. Entersekt’s new solution hopes to solve these issues and better protect companies.
