ENIGMA acquires Onclave to bolster zero-trust cybersecurity platform

ENIGMA a private equity firm with a strong background in national security, has officially acquired Onclave Networks.

Onclave Networks is noted for its rigorous application of Zero Trust principles, initially developed for the U.S. Department of Defense to significantly lower the likelihood of security breaches by minimising attack surfaces and simplifying network structures.

The acquisition, aimed at reinforcing ENIGMA’s capabilities in the cybersecurity domain, notably in Zero Trust architecture, was not disclosed in terms of financial specifics but is seen as a strategic move to integrate and expand upon Onclave’s advanced security technologies.

ENIGMA operates under the umbrella of Option3 and focuses on developing comprehensive cybersecurity solutions based on the Zero Trust model, which assumes no implicit trust is granted to assets or user accounts based solely on their physical or network location. Onclave Networks, on the other hand, has carved a niche for itself by adopting and modifying these principles to enhance cybersecurity measures across various demanding environments, including industrial and governmental sectors.

This acquisition positions ENIGMA to not only incorporate Onclave’s tested technologies into its platform but also to extend its reach to a broader range of applications. This includes potential new deployments in critical areas such as U.S. hospital systems and the global automotive industry, areas where cybersecurity is becoming increasingly crucial.

The strategic acquisition of Onclave by ENIGMA marks a significant enhancement in their ability to deliver robust Zero Trust security solutions. The move comes at a time when the demand for effective cybersecurity strategies is at an all-time high, driven by increased digital threats and the growing complexity of network environments.

“ENIGMA’s acquisition of Onclave Networks significantly strengthens our Zero Trust security platform,” Option3 Managing Partner Manish Thakur said. “This foundational move prepares us to meet and exceed the rigorous demands of entities such as the Defense Health Agency and NATO.”

“Onclave is thrilled to be a cornerstone of the ENIGMA platform,” Onclave Networks CEO Jim Taylor commented. “Our technology is set to revolutionise the way Zero Trust is implemented across legacy and modern operational systems.”
