Qatar-based Doha Bank has released a new tool which enables customers to log into their banking apps via facial or voice identity.
The tools make Doha the first bank in Qatar to let its users access their accounts through voice recognition.
Its new voice and facial recognition tools join the bank’s existing fingerprint options.
With the new service, a smartphone user can access their account after they have registered their face or voice on the app.
Doha Bank CEO Dr. Raghavan Seetharaman, said, “The integration of face and voice recognition features into our mobile banking application, thus enabling unique identification for each user, is part of our transformation strategy and reflects our continuing desire to offer a more convenient, secure and personalized banking experience.
“We particularly take pride in being the first bank in Qatar to integrate a voice authentication feature into our Mobile Banking Application, a step that further consolidates our status as one of the leading private commercial banks in the country. We invite smartphone users to enjoy a seamless mobile banking experience on our constantly updated and user-friendly app.”
Last year, Kennebunk Savings Bank partnered with Nuance Communications to implement voice biometrics to ease customer authentication and reduce fraud.
