Blackhawk Networks, a prepaid payments company, has acquired employee and customer engagement platform Grass Roots for $118m.
UK-based Grass Roots offers solutions for customer experience and loyalty, as well as employee engagement, incentives, rewards and benefits.
Blackhawk says that the company will help to broaden its existing incentives and engagement business, which it has grown to date through seven acquisitions of smaller companies in the space.
The acquired Grass Roots will operate as a subsidiary of BlackHawk. Its offices across Europe, the Americas and Asia will also help increase Blackhawk’s global reach.
