The New York Department of Financial Services has given cryptocurreny exchange Bittrex’s customers more time to empty their accounts.
The regulator had previously denied Bittrex the right to operate in the state. The financial watchdog cited issues with how Bittrex monitored its transactions.
Originally, the New York Department of Financial Services gave Bittrex customers in New York until June 8 to withdraw their funds. This deadline was later expanded until October 24.
Now, Bittrex has asked the New York Department of Financial Services to extend the deadline again. The regulator has approved the request. However, Bittrex’s statement on the matter is unclear for how long customers will be able to withdraw funds.
New York-based customers will not be able to deposit or trade on the cryptocurrency exchange.
