Alpha Payments Cloud valued at $250m following new round

Payments-as-a-service platform Alpha Payments Cloud has raised a new round of funding from Australian private equity firm First Quay Capital.

The size of the investment is undisclosed but values the Alpha at $250m.

The company offers a middleware technology designed to bring payments, risk and commerce into one platform that can integrate into banks’ existing legacy infrastructure.

Established in Singapore in 2011 it is now also present in Dublin and New York.

Alpha will leverage the capital and partnership with First Quay to expand around the MENA region.

The firm previously received an undisclosed investment from Wells Fargo as part of the bank’s startup accelerator programme.
