ACTITO, a Belgium-headquartered provider of marketing automation, has expanded into the North American market ahead of GDPR.
The company. which recently opened offices in France and the Netherlands, has set up shop in Quebec. Benoît De Nayer, ACTITO’s founder, said that Quebec was a logical choice because Belgium and Quebec have many similarities, such as French and bilinguism.
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) comes into force in May, and for companies doing business or marketing themselves in Europe, the new rules affect data collection, storage, treatment, enrichment as well as transformation, constitute a major challenge.
“The new regulation will be stricter than ever and could have serious consequences for companies not complying, including major fines,” explains Benoît De Nayer, co-founder and Managing Director of ACTITO. “In times of booming international trade and new agreements such as CETA, they require a real shift in the way we are managing the privacy of our data, particularly for enterprises from the US, where regulations are less strict.”
ACTITO integrates with all popular business-critical tools through extended APIs – including the most complex CRM, ERP, data mining, web analytics and cash register systems. It claims to give every marketer the power to act, measure and react in real time. The company’s platform pulls all the data together in a single, integrated marketing database, for a GDPR-compliant customer data platform (CDP).
It claims to help customers comply with GDPR by providing markets with 10 steps. These include get buy-in from the top, champion businesswide GDPR culture, get involved in the search for a DPO, create a single version of the truth, follow the rules for data governance, communicate clearly about data privacy, review processes for obtaining consent, make sure there is an a legitimate interest, respect customer’s rights and put data in safe hands.
