Tenable has revealed it plans to acquire attack surface management firm Bit Discovery in a $45m deal.
According to Security Week, the acquisition comes less than a year after Bit Discovery raised $4m in Series B funding.
Tenable plans to leverage Bit Discovery’s products across its entire portfolio, from enterprise vulnerability management to Nessus to cloud to operational technology to identity.
Tenable said, “Once integrated, customers will have the ability to assess the security posture of their entire attack surface and understand each of these in the context of an attack path which might exist from external systems to critical assets.
“By covering both external and internal assets, Tenable will provide a comprehensive view of vulnerabilities and cyber risk, allowing customers to prioritise remediation efforts and minimise cyber exposure.”
The acquisition is anticipated to close later in the second quarter of this year.
