Zighra updates authentication platform to support FIDO & FIDO 2

Zighra, an AI-powered authentication and fraud detection, has updated its platform to support FIDO and FIDO 2.

Following the implementation of GDPR, Zighra has adopted FIDO Alliance standards to help businesses comply. The company has launched an ‘on device’ version of its platform to support FIDO authentication, including the emerging FIDO2 protocols.

Zighra said it extends the FIDO vision of “privacy by design” by bringing natural behavioral authentication with its patented device side solution. AI and machine learning algorithms run entirely on-device, mapping the way a person types, swipes, taps and holds their phone, to verify a genuine user from a fraudster.

Users conduct their mobile and web transactions, while Zighra automatically leverages their natural behavior patterns to silently authenticate behind the scenes.

Financial institutions and other FIDO-enabled enterprises can seamlessly add behavioral biometrics to their authentication services when their FIDO Alliance platform provider integrates Zighra.

“Our on device behavioural authentication brings the best of both worlds – a friction free user experience while complying with FIDO’s robust decentralised authentication framework bringing a new level of privacy control compared to traditional methods,” said Deepak Dutt, CEO of Zighra.

“By offering device-side authentication, our alignment with FIDO standards empowers customers to have choice and control over who accesses their personally identifiable information, in conjunction with the GDPR mission. This decentralised model removes the security risks associated with storing data in one central store, a core issue in today’s breach history.”

Zighra’s SensifyID delivers rapid, real-time behavioral intelligence and security controls to validate the right device, right user and right bio-behaviors to secure the transaction. Users are asked to perform a specific action as an authenticator to determine whether the user or a bot is trying to use the device, such as holding the phone and swiping across the screen.  SensifyID then builds a unique, real-time behavioral model for the user based on their actions.  Its then uses machine learning and behavioral biometrics to ensure the security of the user and device when making a transaction through a mobile app.
