TypingDNA launches real-time typing biometric verification tool

TypingDNA has released its ActiveLock solution, a typing biometrics-based continuous authentication technology that protects businesses from unauthorised users.

The technology, which gives real-time biometric security without impacting the employee experience, ensures each person in front of the computer is an authorised user.

It constantly verifies user identities by the way they type on their keyboard. If an unauthorised pattern is identified, ActiveLock instantly locks the company desktop or laptop to protect sensitive data or send out a silent alert.

TypingDNA claims malicious and negligent insider threats have experienced a year-over-year increase of over 50% and cost an average of $13.3m per incident.

It claims the new solution is the next generation of zero-trust security models, closing the gap in insider threat defence.

This service is available to support large organisations, and can be used as a stand-alone solution or embedded in existing software.

TypingDNA previously raised $7m in its Series A funding round, which closed in 2020. The round was backed by GV, GapMinder, Techstars Ventures and others.
