SafeStack Academy hopes to expand internationally with fresh funds

SafeStack Academy, which provides people with cybersecurity education, has raised NZD 2.3m ($1.6m).

The seed round was led by Jelix Ventures, an Australian venture capital firm. Other commitments came from Carthona Capital, K1W1, New Zealand Growth Capital Partners’ Aspire NZ Seed Fund and NAB Ventures.

With the funds, the CyberTech company hopes to grow its team as it gears up for international expansion.

SafeStack Academy, which launched in 2020, is a community-focused online education platform for software development teams around the world. Its services have been used by more than 60 organisations. Its platform can help a company meet security compliance requirements laid out in PCI DSS, ISO27000 series, and SOC2.

Users can access interactive learning, hands-on-lab experience, monthly seminars and support from a team.

The company claims to have achieved NZD 500,000 in annual recurring revenue.
